Gtbank to set up 100-bed intensive care centre for covid-19 patients

 

Guaranty Trust Bank Plc has announced it is setting up a 100-bed intensive care facility in Onikan, Lagos to care for Nigerians Covid-19 patients.

This was made known by the Chief Executive Officer, GTBank Plc, Segun Agbaje, who said the facility would be equipped with personnel and other equipment needed to care for the patients.

“As an organization, beyond the safety measures we have put in place across our offices and branches, we are also lending ourselves to doing more to beat this outbreak. We are setting up a fully equipped 100- bed Intensive Care Centre at Onikan for the Nigerian people. The Centre will be fully equipped with all the necessary equipment including respirators and personnel to treat and care for those that may become affected. We are fully committed to having the Centre fully set up by the end of this week,” he said.

Agbaje further said in an internal communication to the staff that, “at GTBank, our people are our most valuable asset, and your health and safety is our utmost concern.That is why we are constantly monitoring the Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak and taking all the necessary precautions to make sure that our workplaces remain safe for everyone.

“Our customers and stakeholders are also counting on us during this difficult time, and it is our duty to be there for them, as they navigate the uncertainties caused by this outbreak.”

He said the bank is committed to ensure that the centre is “fully set up by the end of this week”.

Agbaje also advised members of the public to “assume a greater sense of responsibility” for not only themselves but for other people.

“At work, it is absolutely critical that we practice social distancing and make more use of our collaborative digital platforms to get work done,” he advised. Please stay safe by maintaining proper hygiene and following all the guidelines stipulated by the relevant authorities.”
