Barely a week after his resignation as the PDP chairman, statements emanating from the presidency today has it that Alhaji Bamanga Tukur has returned to the fray; this time, as the Chairman of the Nigerian Railway Corporation. At 79, Tukur had a very rough patch as PDP chairman but overseeing the operations of one of the oldest corporations in Nigeria some might say suits his age perfectly. The argument may be that the corporation is already comatose; has been for decades.
The statement credited to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), said President Goodluck Jonathan has also approved the appointment of Dr Ghaji Ismaila Bello as the Director-General, National Population Commission with effect from Jan. 8, 2014.
