In the immediate aftermath of the November 16 elections in Anambra state there have been calls from different quarters that the Federal Government should be stripped of its power to appoint heads of sensitive agencies like ICPC, EFCC and INEC. This they say would reduce the chances of compromising the integrity and impartiality of the work of these agencies.

However, apologists of the Government point to the fact that it is detrimental to the smooth running of governance if such sensitive positions are not appointed by the government.

Poser; What is your take? Should the Government retain the exclusive powers to appoint the heads of INEC and EFCC?
