UNIDO advises SMEs to improve management system

According to him,  SMEs having an organised  management system will help them to have sustainable quality production of products.

Unido advises smes to improve management systemJarl Hansstein,  Chief Techinal Advisor of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) says Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) should have  organised management system to produce quality products.
Hannstein made this known, while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja.
According to him,  SMEs having an organised  management system will help them to have sustainable quality production of products.
He said that  it was  imperative to have an organised system in place for effective service delivery “even  if it is a family business of two to three people”.
“For instance, many people do not keep  record of the materials bought , they buy and  store forgetting that record  keeping is an important  tool for business.
” Another important system is financial  planning, I urge them to have this in place because  this will help them in business development and growth.
” Many enterprises are not pro-active , they  do not plan and  they wait for clients to knock on their doors; they are not looking for clients  and this is  very systematic.
“It is  also very important to  cooperate with each other, while  sourcing for raw materials and products.  These people  buy materials without certifying if they are fake and this is a big mistake
” Because  at the end,  the quality will not be up to standard, ” he added.
UNIDO is a specialised agency of the  UN with the primary objective to promote and accelerate sustainable industrial development in developing countries and economies in transition.
