Transcorp Hotels Plc Appoints New Director

Trancorp Hotels Plc  has appointed Alexander Adeyemi as its new non-executive Director, following the retirement of Dr. Wadinga Bakari.

In a statement signed by the company’s Group Secretary, Helen Iwuchukwu, and addressed to the investing public and the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), the company said the move to appoint Adeyemi as a successor to Bakari was in pursuant to the provisions of the Companies and Allied Matters Act and Article 31 of the Articles of Association of the Company.

According to the statement, Adeyemi’s appointment takes effect from Monday, July 15, 2019.

Mr Adeyemi has a Bachelors’ degree in Accounting from Bayero University, Kano and an MSc. in Business Administration (MBA) from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITIN), and a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy, London Certified Information System Auditor, (CISA) and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

Adeyemi is the current Director, Revenue & Investment, Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF). Prior to this, he held various directorate positions in the Funds and the Consolidated Accounts Departments of the OAGF.
