Over 5000 people have reportedly lost their jobs in Lagos to the reprisal attack caused by the xenophobic attack in South Africa. Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu made this known during his visit to the shopping malls attacked in Lagos. 

Nigerian ace rapper, Jude Abaga, popularly known as MI, was attacked on social media for defending South African rapper, AKA, who had written on Twitter that Nigerians should stay in their country.

MTN Nigeria’s share price dropped on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) a day after some of its centres were attacked in three states. The telecommunication company and other South African companies were subject of a reprisal attack in Nigeria following the Xenophobic attack on Nigerians in South Africa. 

The Founder/Chairman of Zenith Bank Plc, Mr. Jim Ovia, has withdrawn from further activities at the ongoing World Economic Forum Africa 2019, taking place in Cape Town, South Africa.

Nigeria has pulled out of the ongoing World Economic Forum in Cape Town, South Africa, over fresh xenophobic attacks. The country is also making plans to recall Kabiru Bala, its high commissioner to South Africa, according to a presidential source.
