United State President, Donald Trump has vowed to unveil plans to reopen the world’s top economy, following cautious moves in Europe, claiming the US had “passed the peak” of the coronavirus crisis despite a record daily death toll.

The United States’ funding freeze has taken a heavy toll on the World Health Organization’s budget as it attempts to steer the fightback against the coronavirus pandemic.

According to data published on Sunday by Johns Hopkins University, the US recorded 518 new coronavirus-linked deaths in the span of 24 hours.
