A former Minister of External Affairs, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, has been appointed the new Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari. With his appointment, he will be replacing Mallam Abba Kyari, who died in April of COVID-19.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, April 13, 2020 has made his second nationwide broadcast to address Nigerians on the coronavirus pandemic. The President however, extended the lockdown in Lagos and Ogun states as well as the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

President of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari will address Nigerians by 7pm on Monday, April 13, 2020, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, announced in a statement today. 

In a bid to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), President Muhammadu Buhari has advised residents of Lagos and Abuja to stay indoors.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the enlargement of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), replacing Barrister Joy Nunieh with Professor Kemebradikumo Pondei, as Acting Managing Director.
