The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN  has said that the two months free electricity promised to Nigerians by the Federal Government as part of palliatives for COVID-19 is nothing but a mere propaganda that cannot work.

Power generation and distribution companies on Thursday said they were unaware of any N200bn that was paid to the power sector by the Federal Government in the past three days.

Power distribution companies have said that  they will provide Nigerians with two months free power supply. This is in support of the proposal by the National Assembly and the Federal Executive arm of government that Nigerians should get two months of free electricity.

Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo says there is a need for a substantial change of strategy in order to meet the electricity needs of homes and businesses in the country.
