Access Bank Plc says it has temporarily closed its Ligali Ayorinde branch in Victoria Island for thorough disinfection after a customer who visited the branch on Monday, March 16, tested positive to coronavirus.

Access Bank has fully acquired Kenya’s Transnational Bank Plc and its 28 branches, Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) said. The governor of the central bank in Kenya, Patrick Njoroge, last September revealed that he expected consolidation in the industry to continue, adding that market-driven tie-ups were working.

Following the takeover of Transnational Bank Limited of Kenya, Access Bank Plc has revealed that it will open operations in four additional African countries in the next year.
