Torres Scores Against Man CityIt was indeed an interesting weekend for all football lovers in Planet Football. Many rejoiced as their team won, while others were left disappointed as their team lost.

In the English Premier League, Manchester United pulled off a spectacular comeback to earn an undeserved 3-2 win. Goals from Van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Chicharito Hernandez gave the home team victory against a determined Stoke City. Arsenal also gave their fans something to cheer when they beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park; that win still leaves Arsenal top on the league table. Liverpool wasn’t missing from the action; a stunning hat-trick from Suarez and a goal from Daniel Sturridge left the Baggies in bits.

Chelsea had a dramatic win over Manchester City; a late goal from Fernando Torres had the home side and fans jubilating. The Spaniard scored the decisive goal at the 90th minute to give Chelsea the win. It was indeed an engrossing encounter between both sides.

Neymar Scores Against Real MadridIn Spain, Barcelona hosted Real Madrid and an early goal from the Brazilian, Neymar and second half goal from Alexis Sanchez saw the Argentine coach Gerardo Martino win his first Clasico in charge of Barcelona as they ran out a 2-1 win over Real Madrid on Saturday evening. The win moves Barcelona six points ahead of their opponent Real Madrid.

Atletico Madrid eased past Real Betis with a 5-0 victory at the Vicente Calderon on Sunday. Two goals and an assist from former Barcelona man David Villa inspired the impressive win. This win now leaves his team trailing behind the Catalans by only a point.
