Cristiano Ronaldo took his international goals tally to 47 goals to equal fellow countryman, Pedro Pauleta’s goal haul following his stunning hat-trick against Sweden on Tuesday.

The Portuguese superstar has become Portugal’s joint all-time top scorer after equaling Pauleta’s record following his brilliant hat-trick against Sweden in the second-leg of their World Cup play-offs.

Ronaldo notched his 45th, 46th, and 47th goals in a ruthless display of attacking football, as he ensured his side qualified for the World Cup 2014 with an aggregate of 4-2 victory.

The outstanding performance from the 28 year-old has further increased his chances of winning the Balon d’Or in 2013 after an incredible year, in which he has now scored five hat-tricks this season alone.
