A 21-year-old man, Godgift Joseph, was on Friday arraigned in an Upper Area Court, Karu, Abuja for allegedly stealing his employer’s cell phone worth N110,000.
The defendant, a resident of Karu is standing trial for criminal conspiracy, housebreaking and theft.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him.

The prosection counsel, Olarewaju Osho told the court that the complainant, Joshua Charles of ABG Hills, Karu, reported the matter at the Karu Police station on Jan. 6.
According to him, the defendant who was employed as security guard at the above mentioned address, conspired with some criminals and broke into the complainant’s house.
He said in the process, they stole the complainant’s Android phone, valued N110,000.
Osho said that during police investigation, it was revealed that the defendant had tied up the complainant’s security dog in a cage, thereby paving way for them to rob the house.
He said that the offence contravened sections 97, 353 and 288 of the Penal Code.
The Judge, Isa Adamu, however granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 and one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until April 8 for hearing.
