Nigeria Hosts Telecoms Regulator And Executives Forum

The Association Of Telecommunications Companies Of Nigeria (ATCON) has announced the 2013 edition of Nigeria’s Telecoms Executives and Regulator’s Forum. The event slated for Thursday, November 28 2013 will hold at the Golden Gate Restaurants, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Eugene Juwah is expected to deliver a keynote address at the event which would cover the following topical issues;

  • Effectiveness of the Number Portability Scheme
  • Broadband – The Journey so far
  • Migration from Analogue to Digital Broadcasting; Implications For Telecoms
  • Lawful Interception Issues
  • Quality Of Service Issues

The President of ATCON, Engr. Lanre Ajayi, will set the tone for the day’s discussion with a welcome address. The forum which is open to all operators in the Telecoms sector in Nigeria is designed to create an opportunity for key players in the industry to interact with the regulator, with the aim being to building a continual good working relationship. It is also aimed at creating a platform for the regulator to update the industry on the regulator’s directions and plans for the industry in the coming years.

ATCON is the umbrella organization of all telecommunications companies operating in Nigeria. It is the apex telecom industry association providing a central voice for the telecommunications sector in Nigeria. Since its official inauguration in December 1993, ATCON has been in the forefront of advocacies for the rapid development and accelerated expansion of telecommunications in Nigeria.
