British-Nigeria actor, Chiwetel Ejiofor has been nominated for the 2014 Oscar Awards. Ejiofor, who is of Nigerian parents, was nominated for Best Actor for his role in the critically-acclaimed “12 Years a Slave”. The Oscar nominee list also has two other Africans: Kenya’s Lupita Nyong’o, nominated for Best Supporting actress, in “12 Years a Slave” and Somalia’s Barkhad Abdi nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role as a Somali pirate in “Captain Phillips”.
