Godwin Dudu-Orumen, chairman  Edo State Sports Commission and staff of the commission have been felicitating with Governor Godwin Obaseki clocked 60 on July 1, 2019 while praising the Governor for his exemplary leadership and immense contributions to the resurgence and upliftment of sports in Edo State.The accolades were contained in a congratulatory message presented to the governor on Monday.

In Dudu-Orumen’s words, Governor Godwin Orumen is divinely blessed as a man of destiny and a formidable bridge builder. The Edo State Sports Commission boss said the arrival of Godwin Obaseki as governor at this time in the history of Edo State was not fortuitous but a divinely ordained step to turn around the fortunes of the state.

He said “You are a man of destiny, Your Excellency; your coming to Edo State has brought a new lease of life to the people particularly members of the sports fraternity. The creation of the sports commission is a testament to your vision, passion and commitment to repositioning the state in Nigeria’s sporting firmament.”

“We are grateful to you for your leadership and support, which has seen our beloved state begin to excel in national competitions and its sons and daughters blazing the trail in international sporting events. As you celebrate today, we join the people of Edo State and millions of Nigerians proud of the leadership and direction you are providing for Edo State, and the bridges you are building across tribal and religious divides, to honour you.”

Dudu-Orumen concluded by wishing the governor a Happy Birthday and prayed that God continues to strengthen him and put him in good stead to continue to the good work he has been doing for Edo state and Nigeria.
