The Director-General, ARCON, Dr Olalekan Fadolapo, said this in a statement on Thursday in Lagos.

The statement said that the theme of the conference is: “The Marketing Communications Industry: Trends, Challenges and Prospects.”

It said that the conference would hold from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, in Abuja.

The statement said that the conference would have a fireside chat with an advertising guru, a Professor of Strategy Management and Dean, Lagos Business School, Prof. Chris Ogbeche.

“The opening ceremony for the conference holds on November 30 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja by 9.00 a.m.

“This would be followed by a panel discussion on the size of the advertising industry – Stronger brands, stronger nation, and the State of Regulation in the Advertising Industry: The ARCON Law explained,” it said.

The statement said that speakers at the conference would include Emmanuel Agu Group Marketing Director – Jotna, Oare Ojeikere a marketing professional, and Rotimi Pedro, CEO Optima Media Group, among others.

The statement quoted Mr Tunji Adeyinka, Chairman, Planning Committee and President of Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria, as saying that it would provide a platform for advertising practitioners to exchange ideas.

Adeyinka said that the maiden edition in 2019 stemmed from the need to provide a forum where practitioners, stakeholders and businesses in the advertising ecosystem could converge and exchange knowledge.

“The conference has been designed to bring together the three pillars of the industry – the advertisers, marketing agencies and the media by the regulator so as to facilitate growth and advancement of the advertising landscape,” he said.

It also quoted Fadolapo as saying that the conference is aimed at all professionals and businesses interested in best practices in the advertising, marketing and communications industry.

“This largest gathering of stakeholders comes at a pivotal time where we, as an industry, believe that it will ultimately assist in finding certainty in uncertain times.

“We also believe that this year’s conference is going to be bigger, better and bolder, consolidating the most meaningful data available which will ultimately assist in improving the industry as a whole,” Fadolapo said.

The statement said that the conference would be rounded up with a dinner and the Advertising Standards Panel Awards.

It said that companies that complied with stipulated guidelines of the advertising code of practice would be given special recognition and award.
