The House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora says the conferment of the National Honour of the Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) by President Muhammadu Buhari on Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, is well deserved.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Committee’s Chairman, Rep. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe (APC-Oluyole) and made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Ibadan.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the conferment of CFR on Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission, on Tuesday coincided with her 60th birthday.

Akande-Sadipe said, “Dabiri-Erewa’s wealth of experience had contributed meaningfully to the growth and development of Nigeria.”

She described Dabiri-Erewa as an amazon in her chosen career.

The chairman House Committee on Diaspora recalled the awardee’s huge impact as an anchor of Newsline while working with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and a three-term federal lawmaker.

According to her, she has indeed imprinted her footsteps in the sands of time.
