Enugu int’l trade fair: participants laud security arrangement

Participants at the ongoing 33rd Enugu international trade fair have expressed satisfaction with the conducive environment and security arrangements in the venue.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) correspondent who visited the scene reports that there was adequate security in place with more exhibitors trooping in to showcase their products.

Dangote and Nigeria Breweries, major sponsors of the fair, were already on ground showcasing their products.

Some of the exhibitors who spoke to NAN on Friday said they were excited to participate in the fair, hoping to make good sales.

They lauded the conducive atmosphere and security measures in place.

A sales Representative, Simba Group, who pleaded anonymous said the site for the fair was second to none.

He said the company hoped to attract customers to its stand to buy motorcycles, tricycles and other products.

“We want to use the fair to showcase our products and I hope people will patronise us,” he said.

However, the fair holding at the permanent site on Enugu-Onitsha Expressway in Enugu began with a lot of activities and exhibitors constructing their stands.

Meanwhile President, Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Mr Jasper Nduagwuike, has said that the chamber could not ascertain the number of exhibitors as more organisations were coming in.

“It has been our culture to delay things but as I am speaking to you, Standard Organisation (SON) and Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST) just arrived,” he said.

He said that though, “We are starting March 25, the opening ceremony will be on March 29.

“We noticed in the past that while opening ceremony will be going on, some people will be constructing their stands with noise.

“So, we decided to bring in people first while the formal opening of the fair will come later.”

NAN reports that the trade fair will last for 11 days starting from March 25 to end April 4.
