Nigeria’s Flyboy I.N.C boss and musician, Kizz Daniel, has again been sued by his former music label, G Worldwide.

The label wants more than half a billion naira from Kizz Daniel with claim for general damages in the sum of Two Hundred Million Naira (200,000,000), special damages for breach of contract in the sum of N179,499,957.00 (One Hundred and Seventy-Nine Million, Four Hundred and Ninety-Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred and Fifty-Seven Naira) and N150, 000, 000 (One Hundred and Fifty Million Naira) for contract exit fees, among other reliefs.

The Label in pursuit of this course has engaged the law firm of Olisa Agbakoba Legal, led by Senior Counsel, Dr. Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, to prosecute its claims against the Artiste and the matter has been filed before a High Court sitting in Lagos.

However, when the matter appeared before the High Court on Monday, October 7, 2019, the claimants prayed the court for a stay of proceedings so it can settle the matter via the alternative dispute resolution method, arbitration – a stipulation of he contract signed between both parties.

It can be recalled that in 2017, Kizz Daniel was involved in a contractual dispute with his then-record label, G Worldwide. The issue was his desire to breach the terms of his contract and exit the label without fulfilling the terms of his contract.

As a result of the dispute, an injunction prevented him from performing throughout the festive period of December 2017. It also led to him changing his name from ‘Kiss’ to ‘Kizz.’ G Worldwide has trademarked the name, ‘Kiss.’ While on G Worldwide, he released his critically acclaimed and commercially successful Headies-winning 2016 debut album, New Era.

However, he was able to release music again through his own record label, Flyboy I.N.C. and even released his sophomore album, No Bad Songz on the label. But now, G Worldwide has slammed him with another lawsuit totaling N500 million.
