Super Eagles to boycott AFCON training over cash today?

Super eagles to boycott afcon training over cash today?Super Eagles could well boycott training today ahead of their AFCON Group B clash against Guinea if they are not paid what was promised them.

This pay strike comes after both the Flying Eagles and Super Falcons did a similar thing in Poland and France, respectively recently.

Training is slated for this afternoon at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport in Alexandria ahead of the Guinea match.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had promised to pay the players $5,000 each for the 1-0 win over Burundi yesterday, but they failed to do so.

“The players want their bonus as well as their camp allowances paid immediately,” a top source told SCORENigeria

“They don’t trust the NFF when it comes to money because they have often promised and failed to pay them on numerous occasions.”

The NFF have said in their defence they are waiting on government for the funds for the tournament.

Zimbabwe and Cameroon have also been involved in pay rows at this AFCON.
