Ex-Microsoft Boss wins bid for Clippers

Steve Ballmer, a former Chief Executive at Microsoft, has reportedly won the bidding to purchase the Los Angeles Clippers.

Ballmer outbid two groups, one led by media mogul David Geffen that offered $1.6 billion and another from Los Angeles investors who bid $1.2 billion.

Our sources say Ballmer has agreed that he will not move the team from Los Angeles to Seattle where he has deep roots.

The Clippers went up for sale after a recording of racial comments by current owner Donald Sterling surfaced.

Sterling however has no plans to sell, and has stated his desire to drag the matter out.
