Former national chairman of PDP Alhaji Bamanga Tukur has said he would use his post as the Chairman of the board of directors of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), to promote President Goodluck Jonathan’s transformation agenda. Tukur landed his new post after he was forced to resign due to continuous controversy in the PDP under his leadership.
While making a facility tour at the NRC headquarters yesterday in Lagos, Tukur assured Nigerians that the federal government would provide all the necessary support for the management of the corporation to meet the need for modern railway for its citizenry.
He said: “I will use my wealth of experience to promote the transformation agenda of the president through a reliable, effective and efficient railway transport subsector. I believe that the government of Nigeria will provide what is required, and the management of the railway will meet the need and the result to back the need so that the job can be done.”
