Total Gives N55bn E-Library to Schools

Total Exploration and Production firm has presented N55m electronic library to the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt.

Mr. Charles Ngoka, The Deputy Managing Director, Deep Water District of Total Upstream Companies in Nigeria, said the gesture was part of the company’s social responsibilities, and it was also to support educational development in the country.

totalNgoka, explained that the oil firm had deliberately fashioned out some initiatives aimed at giving back to the Nigerian society.

The project financed by Total E&P Nigeria Limited, in partnership with Chevron, ESSO and Nexen, he said, would enhance the availability of research materials for students and lecturers in the university.

Ngoka said, “Our company, on a yearly basis, offers graduate and post-graduate scholarships, not only to the indigenes of the areas where we produce oil and gas, but also to people from all over Nigeria.”
