NIGERIA-CORRUPTION-OIL-ARREST

In what could be a strategic move to free the United Kingdom of Nigeria’s convicted criminal brands an agreement termed: Prisoners Transfer Agreement was signed yesterday between Nigeria and Britain. The said agreement will thus  pave the way for the repatriation of some of the 521 Nigerians currently serving jails terms in the UK; most notably James Ibori. Britain has in recent times decried the high cost of keeping foreign inmates in their jails.

Nigeria’s Minister of Justice Mohammed Adoke and the British Justice Minister Jermey Wright signed the transfer agreement on behalf of the respective countries.  The British government is also believed to have promised Nigeria a sum of one million pounds to assist in the comprehensive reformation of the Nigerian Prisons for the comfort of the inmates.

What Britain may not know however is that Nigerian prisons are already very comfortable for VIP prisoners such as Ibori.
