President Buhari To Address Nigerians At 7pm

President of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari will address Nigerians by 7pm on Monday, April 13, 2020, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, announced in a statement today.

“Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively for the broadcast,” he said.

Following the increasing cases of the virus, the President had ordered a shutdown of Lagos, Abuja and Ogun State since March 31.

On Saturday, Buhari urged Nigerians to stay at home and to wash their hands to help save lives, but gave no indication of whether the official confinement period would be extended past Monday.

As of 09:10 pm on April 12, 323 confirmed cases of #COVID-19 have been reported in Nigeria.

Of the 323 cases, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said 85 patients have been discharged while 10 died.
