Nvidia Introduces New GPUs For Notebook

Tech company Nvidia is unveiling its new line of graphics processing units GPUs for notebooks they say will conserve battery life and let users record or stream their game play.

The GeForce 800M line will be featured in notebooks from manufacturers including Asus, Alienware, Lenovo and Razer, The GPUs will deliver between a 30% and 60% boost in performance compared to the previous line.

1394640549000-lenovo-y50Among the key features introduced with the GeForce 800M line is Nvidia Battery Boost, which will double notebook battery life. After a user sets a frame rate for their games, the Battery Boost will manage the notebook’s components to ensure they run efficiently and cut back on battery consumption.

The GPU line also brings Shadowplay, allowing players to capture footage from games or broadcast their play through services such as Twitch, Notebooks running the new Nvidia GPUs add support for Gamestream, which lets players stream a game from their computer to a device like the portable Nvidia Shield.
