Nigeria’s Defense Headquarters Calls Attention To Fake Facebook AccountsNigeria’s Defense Headquarters (DHQ) has issued a disclaimer in relation to the various Facebook accounts claiming to belong to chief of defence staff Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh.

According to the DHQ, the accounts are being operated by fraudsters in the country.

In a statement issued in Abuja and signed by Major General Chris Olukolade, director of defence information, the DHQ asked members of the public to desist from using the fake accounts, and described the operators of the fake accounts as criminals, promising to arrest and prosecute them.

“We wish to therefore dissociate the CDS from the said accounts and call on the general public not to patronise them,” the statement said.

The DHQ views this as a criminal act and effort is being made to track and bring the perpetrators to book.”
