A new online trading platform called LeadTrader has been launched by Nigeria’s Lead Securities and Investment Limited to enhance transparency and accountability in stock market transactions and ease the process for capital market investors all over the world.

Jumia Nigeria’s former heads launch SupermartAbimbola Olashore, chairman of Lead Securities and Investment Limited, said the platform was developed to meet the need of local and foreign investors for a portal that would enable them to carry out their transactions with a higher level of transparency.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony for the platform held at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) in Lagos, he said LeadTrader was designed to conform to global best solutions for online real-time trading of securities utilised by retail and institutional investors in the advanced economies.

The platform, he said, offers a secure and efficient electronic channel for buying and selling stocks on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

Before now, retail and institutional investors had been sending mandates to their brokers to buy and sell stocks via emails and letters. Technology has changed the way that is done and LeadTrader has been developed in such a way as to conform in every aspect with the global best solutions for real-time trading of securities utilised by investors in advanced economies,” he said.
