Dr. Olumide Bernard Aliu, a representative of Nigeria has been elected and sworn in as President of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), the umbrella world body for Aviation safety. Nigeria scored a total of 149 votes in the General Assembly meeting which was held in Canada recently. He was elected on Monday at the 38th Assembly, and is the first Blackman to head the world body.
