MTN records loss as Nigeria’s mobile internet subscribers hit 66m

The latest figures released by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) have shown that the number of Nigerians accessing the internet through mobile networks is on a steady rise. NCC says that the figure now exceeds 66 million, up by 1.8 million since March.

Although MTN still has highest number of subscribers with 33,8 35,981 users in April, it lost 104,647 users from 33,940,628 users in March.

Globacom came second with 13,221,754 internet users in April, gaining 539,322 users from 12,682,432 users in March.

Airtel emerged highest gainer, coming third Nigeria with 11,962,651 users in April, as against 10,847,187 users in March, adding 1,115,464 Internet subscribers.
