The Kaduna State Government on Wednesday called on business owners in the state to register their business premises.

Musa Isah, Director, Business and Industrial Development, Ministry for Business, Innovation and Technology (MBIT), made the call while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna.

According to him, the Business Premises Registration (BPR) law had mandated every business owner to register their premises within 21 days of commencement.

Isah added that BPR was a condition for the qualification and award of contracts in the state, adding that business owners who registered would access government grants and loans.

The director added that other benefits were the listing of registered business premises on the ministry’s website which would give them worldwide exposure.

He said that business owners could now register their premises through the ministry’s portal, www.mbit.kdsg.gov.ng with N10, 300 registration fee and N5, 000 annual renewal fee.

Isah said that the requirements for the BPR were the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) certificate, Tax Clearance Certificate or Tax Identification Number (TIN) and a valid means of identification.

The director added that other items required for the registration were a valid email address and a phone number after which payment would be done online.
