Jos DISCO decries declining revenue generation

The Jos Electricity Distribution Plc (JED) says the company generated only 40 percent of its expected revenue.

The Managing Director of the company, Mr Abdu Mohammed, disclosed this during a meeting with the management and operational staff of the disco recently in Bauchi.

A statement issued on Wednesday in Jos by the company’s Head, Corporate Communications, Dr Adakole Elijah, quotes Mohammed as charging the employees to brace up and stem the declining revenue in the organisation.

The managing director advised the staff of the company to improve their attitude to work and to be dedicated, stressing that the improvement in the revenue of the company translates to an improvement in the fortunes of the workers.

“When you take ownership of this company and take it to the desired level, staff will be allowed to buy shares and become owners of the company

“We are going to introduce a performance-driven regime; we will provide an incentive and when you achieve your target, you are going to be given incentives

”Part of the incentives will be regular promotion, payment of outstanding arrears and salary increment,’’ he said.

Responding, the Regional Manager of the company, Mr Hafiz Saleh, assured the managing director of his determination to increase the revenue generated within in the region.
