Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola has continued his drive towards making Lagos State an agro-based economy. He commissioned a cassava flour factory aimed at tackling the growing food insecurity in the state, especially as the state population increases.

Gov.Fashola also commissioned a 50, 000 capacity automated five unit broiler houses, 64 tonnes per day feed mills, 200 unit of two bedroom apartment for farmers and 2.34 kilometer road network, within the Agric Training Institute, Araga, Epe.

The governor, who spoke at the graduation ceremony of 286 trainee farmers and the inauguration ceremony of the projects at the Agric Training Institute, Araga, Epe, said that the factory could produce 32 tonnes of cassava flour per day.

He stated that these showed that the solution to increased food production locally was about developing new ideas that will create opportunities for the citizens.

He added that there isn’t simple solution to the problem but what is required of us, is to continuously be innovative, focus, truthful and honest about what we are doing.
