EnyeamaNigeria and Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama will enter the record books as the second best goalkeeper behind Bordeaux’s Gaëtan Huard in the history of the French Lique 1 to go over 948 minutes if he can keep a clean sheet for just the first four minutes of his side’s match against Marseille on Tuesday.

The Nigerian shot stopper kept a 10th consecutive clean sheet Lille OSC as they stayed second in the table thanks to a 1-0 win over Valenciennes on Saturday.

The 31-year-old has kept an amazing 13 clean sheets in 15 matches so far this season, and needs only not to concede for the first four minutes of the match against Marseille to break the record of 948 minutes without conceding a goal.

Interestingly, that record was set only about 12 months ago, by PSG goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu between November 17 2012 and February 8 2013.

But the record seems set to be broken, with Enyeama failing to concede a goal over a period of 945 minutes, the last time been a 2-0 home defeat by Nice on September 15 at the Stade Pierre Mauroy. Dario Cvitanich scored the two goals that got the visitors the win..

The Nigerian international could become the new overall record holder if he keeps a clean sheet in Lille’s next two games against Olympic Marseille on Tuesday and Bordeaux on Sunday as well as another clean sheet in the first 21 minutes in the third game against away at Bastia on December 15.If he does this, he will equal the 20-year old record set by Gaëtan Huard in 1993.
