Report from Old Trafford has it that David Moyes will not be given more years at Old Trafford and could even be sacked before the end of the season.

The former Everton manager faces the exit door having gone out of favour with the club owners, the Glazer family following string of bad results.

United currently lie 7th on the EPL table, twelve points behind Everton after losing 2-0 at Goodison Park on Sunday. The defeat put an end to United’s slight hope of European football next season and is also proving to be the final straw for Moyes with the club’s owners preparing to call time on the Scot’s disastrous tenure at Old Trafford.

It is understood that the plan now is to sack Moyes at the end of the season but the situation could now come to a head later on Monday or in the coming days.

If the former Everton boss is sacked before the season’s end, club legend Ryan Giggs will be asked to take over team affairs.

In terms of appointing a long-term successor, Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp, Holland’s Louis van Gaal and Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti are in the frame.

It would be recalled that Sir Alex Ferguson chose Moyes as his successor at the end of 2012/13 season.
