Christmas: Nigeria will be better – Turaki

A former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Kabiru Turaki has urged Nigerians to remain resilient and peaceful even in times of hardship as Nigeria will be better.

In a Christmas message to Nigerians issued on Friday, he tasked citizens to continue to imbibe the spirit of giving during this joyous occasion.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) described Christmas as the season of love, reflection and giving, occasioned by the birth of Jesus Christ.

Turaki who is the chairman of former ministers, therefore, urged Nigerians to continue in the way of peace and unity, assuring that Nigeria will be better.

“Today, I join all Nigerians, especially our Christian brothers and sisters across the nation and the world as they celebrate the joyous occasion of Christmas.

“In the spirit of the celebration, I would like to commend Nigerians for their resilience in the last six years and urge them to continue to embrace peace and national unity as we prepare for a new year.

“It has, indeed, been a very challenging period for all Nigerians. The goodwill, support, and cooperation exhibited by the people have largely kept us together as one indivisible entity despite the existing and new challenges that threaten our peaceful co-existence,” he said.

He urged Nigerians to be tolerant of one another and resolve to focus only on those things that unite nation as they celebrate Christmas.

“There will not be light at the end of the tunnel, but a bright sunny day and it is only in a peaceful and secured atmosphere that we can achieve our collective aspirations as a people.

“I wish you and your family a great Christmas celebration,” he said.
