A Los Angeles judge has ordered Chris Brown to stay in an anger-management and drug rehab programme for another two months. The Grammy winner is still on probation following his attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, and several subsequent incidents have risked violating the terms of his probation.

Documents from the rehab center said Brown was diagnosed with PTSD, bipolar disorder and insomnia, and with the performer now taking the proper medications and using new techniques to control his anger, his probation office told the court that he “continues to make great improvement.”

Superior Court Judge James Brandlin, however, wants him to remain in rehab until his Washington D.C. trial for assault is concluded, so he can then determine whether Brown should be imprisoned for violating his probation from his assault on Rihanna.

The next progress hearing has been set for one week later, on April 23. It would be recalled that Prosecutors had wanted Brown remanded to jail immediately when his probation was revoked in December for the alleged altercation outside of a D.C. hotel, but the judge opted for rehab instead.
