CASHLESS POLICY: CBN INSTALLS OVER 200,000 POS

The Shared Service Officer of the CBN Aminu Yadume, yesterday disclosed that the apex bank installed over 200,000 Points of Sale (POS) in two years as parts of its effort to ensure the implementation of cashless policy in all states of the federation.

Yadume, stated this at the during the sensitisation programme on the CBN cash-less policy held in Bauchi.  According to him, CBN installed 5,000 POS in 2012 when the cashless policy started in Lagos State, while the number of POS in use in Nigeria has increased to 200,000 this year. He added that CBN is ready to install internet services and POS in all local governments to ensure effective implementation of cashless policy.
