Army Officer Abducted in Kaduna

A senior military officer serving with the Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Jaji, Kaduna State, Colonel Samaila Inusa, has been abducted by unknown gunmen in Kaduna.

A statement by the spokesman of 1 Division of the Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Colonel Usman Abdul, said Inusa was abducted on Saturday at about 7.30 pm along Kamazo road, near NNPC junction, Kaduna.

Thisday reported that Inusa who was said to have been driving in the company of his wife, was blocked by the abductors, who took over the steering and drove off with him towards Abuja road.

According to the statement by Colonel Abdul, “The abductors dropped off his wife and left with him in his car. They car headed towards Abuja.

“Anybody with useful information should please assist in tracking these abductors. They are in a black-coloured Mercedes Benz GLK with registration number Abuja, KUJ 154 TZ.

“The abduction took place at about 7.30 pm on Saturday, 26 March 2016.”

The abduction of the army officer came one week after the president of the United Church of Christ in Nigeria, Rev. Emmanuel Dzigau and two other clergies were abducted along the Abuja road.

The clergy men are yet to regain their freedom, as their abductors who had demanded for N100 million ransom later reduced their demand to N50 million and threatened to kill them if the money was not paid on time.
