Africans seem to be in the lime light, days after Kenyan Lupita Nyong’o’ made history by becoming the first African actor to win an Oscar, Nigerian’s foremost industrialist Aliko Dangote also made history.

The African business mogul became the first black man to break into the rank of top 25 richest people in the world.

According to Forbes magazine’s list of richest people on earth, he was said to be worth $16.1bn in 2013, and now he’s worth a staggering sum of $25bn.

He still retains his spot as the richest man in Africa, and 23rd richest person in the world.

The Chairman, Globacom, Chief Mike Adenuga, was the next Nigerian on the list with a wealth of $4.6bn.

Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija retained her position as the world’s richest black woman. The Executive Vice Chairman, Famfa Oil Limited and fashion icon is said to have a fortune of $2.5bn.
