Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation Magazine and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that Nigeria is failing under the current administration because ‘someone transferred the Lagos template to Abuja’.

The publisher, who recently wrote an open letter to President Tinubu bemoaning the current state of affairs in the country, shared this opinion while speaking on Channels TV on Monday, July 22.

He claimed that the current administration was all about using appointments as compensation to friends who might not be competent for the job given to them.

My reforms will make Nigeria competitive, says Tinubu

‘’I am someone who believes in star-studded cabinet, If you ask me today, President Ibrahim Babangida, minus the June 12 annulment, he had one of the best cabinets in Nigeria. He tried his best. Obasanjo also tried his best to assemble the best. Today, if you ask me to name ten ministers in Tinubu’s cabinet and to tell you what they did or did not do before they were appointed, I will struggle. That is the truth.

“What we have today is that someone tried to transfer the Lagos template to Abuja and that is why we are failing”

“According to him, Nigeria parades some of the greatest humans on planet Earth, but the resources are not being adequately utilised.

‘’I have travelled to Australia. There is nowhere you will not meet Nigerians doing great things. Where are those people? In today’s Nigeria, it is either you are the son of, the daughter of… Nigeria cannot continue to operate on the basis of compensation. ‘I must compensate my friend, my former schoolmate.

“A lot of the people there now, their lives totally depend on Tinubu. They cannot tell him the truth. I know what a lot of them say behind when they see us,” he said
