Paradigm initiative trains 500,000 youths in 15 years on ict – official

 

An NGO, Paradigm Initiative (PIN) says it has trained no fewer than 500,000 youths on Life skills, ICT, Financial literacy, Entrepreneurship (LIFE) from  2007 till date.

The Executive Director, PIN, Mr Gbenga Sesan, said this at the 9th Edition of Digital  Rights Inclusion Forum 22 in Lagos on Thursday.

Sesan said that  the aim was to empower about 50 million youths through the LIFE programme  in the next 15 years.

“In the next 15 years we are changing  strategy, and we would be working with partners in order to reach tens of millions of lives.

“What we are excited about is that students trained in the programme are now standing  on their own and some even became partners to the LIFE programme,” he said.

According  to him, one of the students has taking over the Ajegunle office of the NGO to do exactly what the NGO is doing at  Ajegunle, Apapa Local Government Area of Lagos State.

He lauded the NGO’s success in the past 15 years, adding that the Initiative  was planning to change its strategy to achieve more success.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that LIFE programme equips young Africans living in Underserved communities with demand driven ICT entrepreneurship skills.

It connects them to internships online work or entrepreneurial ventures with a high possibility of earning.
